Overview

Diversification is increasingly becoming a core governance issue for boards across the primary sector as organisations respond to market volatility, climate risk, regulation and changing capital expectations.

Join us for a panel discussion exploring what effective governance of diversification looks like in practice. Drawing on perspectives from Māori agribusiness, commercial farming and agribusiness consultancy, our speakers will discuss how boards approach decisions around land use change, new revenue streams, risk appetite, capital allocation and alignment with organisational values and purpose.

Panellists Tiaki Hunia, Kiriwaitingi Rei and Lee Matheson will share practical insights into the opportunities and trade-offs boards face when pursuing diversification strategies, along with the governance questions directors should be asking as operating environments become increasingly complex.

Facilitated by Luke O’Brien, this session will provide valuable insights for directors working in, or alongside, the primary sector.
