Learn about the steps and processes involved in building your board career.
This session is being facilitated by one of our local Hawke’s Bay IoD committee members, professional director, Sarah Park. Sarah will take you through the steps and processes involved in building your board career, such as:
Pauline Prince, your IoD Branch Manager will be joining Sarah and will discuss the support offered by the IoD and how they can assist you to reach your governance goals.
Sarah Park is a full-time independent director. She brings international corporate finance experience to her governance roles after a professional career with Pricewaterhouse Coopers in New Zealand and HSBC Investment Bank in London. Sarah has a MA in Economics and she earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) professional designation, awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies.
During her executive career, Sarah worked in mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, venture capital and was also an equity research analyst covering Pan-European Media.
Following a strong executive career, Sarah moved her focus to governance in 2014 and currently serves as a director of NZX-Listed Pacific Edge, National Provident Fund, Hawke’s Bay Airport, Focus Genetics, Hereworth School Trust Board and Eurogrow Potatoes. Sarah is Chair of the Audit and Risk committees of Pacific Edge, Hawke’s Bay Airport and Focus Genetics.
Sarah is a member of the IoD and completed the Company Directors’ Course in 2014 and the Mentoring for Diversity programme in 2018/19. She is also a committee member of the Hawke’s Bay branch of the IoD.
Sarah lives in the Hawke’s Bay where with her husband and two children she is an active member of the local community while enjoying the Hawke’s Bay lifestyle.
