As AI technology, particularly sophisticated language models like ChatGPT, becomes an integral part of many business strategies, boards are tasked with steering their organisations through the challenges and opportunities it presents.

This transition is often marked by a myriad of misconceptions and uncertainty. The potential for AI to drive business transformation is undeniable, yet the risks and opportunities for embedding this technology in their organisations are unclear.

This session will focus on current research and findings on the use of Generative AI in business, pragmatic strategies to maximise AI's benefits while mitigating potential pitfalls, helping you to lead your organisation confidently into the AI era.

Elsamari Botha

Elsamari, PhD, is an Associate Professor and the MBA Director at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand and an extraordinary associate professor at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, South Africa. She attained her PhD at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.

With over 15 years of consulting experience, involvement in technology start-ups, and many public speaking engagements, Elsamari’s research focuses on technology transitions within companies to enable businesses to get the most out of significant technology investments while preparing for digital disruption.
