SME resources

SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) comprise over 97 per cent of enterprises in New Zealand. They play a key role in the New Zealand economy, employing over 584,000 people (30 per cent of the workforce) and contributing 28 per cent of New Zealand’s GDP. We have put together some key resources to help you in governing a SME.

Director Development

Essentials of Directorship – These courses address governance, finance, strategy, risk and digital.

Health and Safety

Health and Safety Leadership – This guide is for directors, owners and managers of small-to medium-sized businesses. It’s designed to give you an overview of the most important things you need to know and do about health and safety.

Are you onboard with health and safety? At the IoD we are committed to raising awareness of the importance of good health and safety practice and educating directors about their new roles and responsibilities. On April 4 the new Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 came into force, so we’ve put together a resource package to support directors in meeting their new obligations under the Act.
