    Tony is a director of Smiths City Group Ltd and Delta Utilities Limited as well as the chair of Mornington Health Centre and Dunedin International Airport Ltd, an appointment that led on from his original placement on that board with the IoD’s Future Directors’ Programme. Tony is a Chartered Member of the IoD and he was the winner of the Otago Southland IoD 2013 Aspiring Director Award. Tony Allison recently finished as CE of Night ‘n Day Foodstores to concentrate on his governance roles and other consultancy work.

    Duncan is a Queenstown based Chartered Accountant who has strong links across the Central Otago and Southland areas. He has particular expertise in advisory, strategic planning, and business acquisitions and sales. As well as his busy accountancy role, Duncan has considerable governance experience. His earlier board roles include Pioneer Generation Ltd, Queenstown Airport Ltd, and Goldfields Jet Ltd. Duncan’s current governance roles are with PowerNet Ltd, The Power Company Ltd, OtagoNet JV, Southern Generation LP and the Walker Group of Engineering Companies. Duncan has held the latter role for many years, working closely with the late Bill Walker since 1985. Focused to seek continuous improvement, Duncan completed the week-long Company Directors’ Course in 2012 and has since completed courses on Audit and Risk Committees as well as three Boards in Action courses, including ‘Leadership in the Boardroom’. He is an enthusiastic supporter of the branch.

    Alan McKenzie is a Dunedin based business adviser with over 40 years’ experience as a Chartered Accountant working in New Zealand and overseas, in both Public Practice and Industry.  He has worked successfully with numerous businesses ranging from new ventures requiring day to day input, to substantial multi-national companies. His focus is advising clients regarding structuring business investment, financing, and related taxation issues. He is a Chartered Fellow of the IoD, holds a Certificate of Public Practice in the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Otago. He is a director of TracPlus Global Ltd, Queenstown Resort College Ltd, the Sinclair Investments Group and several other client owned businesses and investment groups, operating within New Zealand and internationally. He has been a director of NZX Listed Blis Technologies Ltd., for the past six years and retired from the Board in July 2018.

    Sarah is a Chartered Fellow of the IoD and a graduate of the University of Otago.
    In Sarah’s 20-year executive career with Unilever and DB Breweries/Heineken she held senior marketing roles in New Zealand and internationally. Sarah created the Tui Yeah Right Campaign.

    Sarah is currently a director of The EBOS Group Ltd, Skyline Enterprises Ltd, Christchurch International Airport, Mount Cook Alpine Salmon, The Whitestone Cheese Co and Sarah Ottrey Marketing Ltd.  Past directorships include Comvita, The NZ Public Trust, Blue Sky Meats, The Smiths City Group, Inland Revenue Risk Assurance Committee and Wellesley College and its Foundation as Deputy Chair and Chair.

    Kathryn is a self employed consultant, principally to McIntyre Dick & Partners Ltd, Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, based in Invercargill, where she was a partner/principal for around 20 years. She remains part of the MDP tax specialist team and also provides business advice to a wide range of clients. Kathryn is a director of SBS Bank, a position she has held since 2006 and she chairs the bank’s Audit & Risk Committee. She is also a director of Stadium Southland Ltd. Kathryn served for a number of years as a Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) Councillor, chairing the Audit & Finance Committee and serving a period as deputy chair. She was involved with SIT at the time the innovative “Zero Fees” scheme was introduced.

    Kathy has wide legal experience having taught in the Faculty of Law at the University of Otago and been in practice at Gallaway Cook Allan for the last 20 years. She has had extensive experience in the governance of educational institutions having previously chaired the Dunedin College of Education, served on the University of Otago Council and currently chairs the Otago Polytechnic Council. Kathy also has significant governance experience in the commercial sector as a current member of the boards of Dunedin City Holdings Limited and Dunedin City Treasury Limited. She is Commissioner of the Southern District Health Board and she also sits on a number of boards in the not-for profit sector. Kathy has been a member of the Institute of Directors since 2009 and she delivers locally led sessions of the Dunedin Governance Development Programme.

    Susie is the Managing Partner of Shand Thomson, a chartered accountancy practice based in Balclutha that focusses on the agri sector.   Susie has had significant experience in public sector governance with an emphasis on audit and risk.  She currently chairs the Dunedin City Council's Audit and Risk Committee and the Southern District Health Board's Finance Audit and Risk Committee and is also a member of the Office of the Auditor General's Audit & Risk Committee.  She recently retired from the board of REANNZ, a company responsible for the provision of a specialised high capacity internet service to the NZ research community and other roles have revolved around health, education, sport and tourism.  Susie was Deputy Chair of the Otago Polytechnic Council for several years and Deputy Chair of Tourism New Zealand, Southland and Otago District Health Boards.   She has also served on the boards of the New Zealand Blood Service and the New Zealand Hockey Federation.   Susie is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ) and a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

    Trish is the Otago Southland Branch Committee Chair and IoD council representative. She joined Forsyth Barr Ltd in March 2000 where she is Head of Summer (Forsyth Barr’s KiwiSaver scheme). Trish has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, having previously worked in the banking sector in a variety of management positions. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago. Trish is a former Chairperson of Tourism Dunedin. She is a director of Dunedin International Airport Ltd, a trustee of the Royal New Zealand Ballet and Dunedin Casino Charitable Trust and a Councillor of the University of Otago.

  • Rei Ishikawa

    Rei Ishikawa is Acting Chief Operating Officer of health software and informatics organisation, BPAC Clinical Solutions. An environmental scientist and project manager by training, Rei has a varied background working across the engineering, environmental science, and ICT industries. Rei has recently started his journey in governance with a trustee role with the Otago Physio Pool Trust, and has recently completed an internship director role with Dunedin International Airport Ltd. Rei has been an IoD member since 2017 and has attended the GDP along with many of the local events.

    Rei is seeking to provide value to the committee with the perspective of an aspiring director as well as my cross industry background and experience.
