Directors Lens on consumer sustainability insights
Overview
Recording date - 9 August 2023
In this webinar Jason Cate from Kantar and Rebecca Lowe from the Sustainable Business Council will discuss the most recent local and overseas consumer findings and perspectives on sustainability. They will provide examples of how New Zealand businesses are applying consumer insights to stay ahead of the curve in sustainability, including how directors can best respond to evolving consumers views on climate change.
Director Sarah Ottrey CFInstD will then share her experience from the board table, exploring the impact of consumer demand for sustainable goods and services and how boards can make sustainability central to business decision making. There will also be an opportunity for audience Q&A with Jason and Sarah.
Building on the annual Better Futures Report 2023, Kantar’s ongoing research into the needs and behaviours of New Zealand consumers has helped to guide the market-facing sustainability strategies of a range of clients and SBC members across multiple sectors. In particular, recent research raises significant questions regarding the potential pitfalls of a narrow and premiumised view of ‘EcoActive’ consumers, and the commercial opportunities available in bring sustainable and ethical goods and services to a broader range of consumers.
