Overview

John has managed a few crises during his extensive non-executive career, including as chair at Zespri during the PSA outbreak, a director of Tranz Rail with failing infrastructure, and an inadequate financial structure through to the perfect storm in market conditions with Allied Farmers and most recently charting “essential” businesses through COVID-19.

John Louglin

John Loughlin is chair of Powerco Limited, EastPack Limited, Rockit Global Limited, Hop Revolution Limited, Coda GP Limited and the Meat Industry Association of New Zealand. He represents the Meat Industry Association on the International Business Forum, the New Zealand China Council and the Food & Fibre Leaders Group.

In his governance career John has served as chair of ZESPRI Group Limited, Tru-Test Corporation Limited, FirstLight Foods Limited, Allied Farmers Limited and Prism Group Holdings Limited. He has also served as a director of Port of Napier Limited, Toll NZ Limited, Augusta Capital Limited, Metlifecare Limited, and AgResearch Limited.

John has BCA and MBA degrees from Victoria University of Wellington. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand and a Fellow of the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
