Coaching and mentoring

Let us walk with you and give you a fresh perspective

Governing in these challenging times is tough. There will be difficult decisions to make and issues to overcome.

If you need a sounding board, experience & insight from a seasoned director then we can connect you with a coach or mentor who will be suited to your specific needs, sector and culture.

An independent coach creates a neutral space to discuss issues, bring new perspectives & best practice context to help you navigate through these difficult times.

You can access one-to-one coaching for you or your whole board, based on an agreed methodology for sessions that can be as little as one hour or a full programme of support which may include:

  1. COVID 19 related issues. Business change, revenue shock, cash-flow management, supply chain etc.
  2. Shadowing decision making and strategy changes
  3. Board-dynamics & conflict
  4. Skills coaching
  5. Reporting & stakeholder communication
  6. Encouraging a standardised, professional governance structure with better processes, framework, expectations and better strategic outcomes.

How we can help

Our network of coaches provide a mix of expertise available to your unique situation. We have a range of established leading directors and board chairs from a range of industries and business types. Allow us to explore your challenges with you and offer a fresh perspective to help you make the right decisions.

NZTE through its regional business partners has set aside significant funds and pledged to support businesses impacted by the COVID-19 crisis to fully fund business advisory services.

The Institute of Directors' new online Coaching and Mentoring service is registered with the NZTE management capability development fund and your small to medium business might be eligible for this funding for coaching.

Tell me about the funding?

Each regional business partner (ATEED, Venture Taranaki, CEDA, WREDA, Northland Inc, etc) has an eligibility criteria and an allocation of a funding assistance grant. To be eligible for the funding you will:

  • have an assessment with an NZTE regional business partner growth advisor
  • have less than 50 full-time equivalent staff
  • be GST registered in New Zealand

To find out more about your business' eligibility contact your local regional business partner at www.regionalbusinesspartners.co.nz

It might be a single telephone conversation, a series of one-on-one zoom meetings, or a zoom meeting to provide support and guidance to your board or senior leadership team.
