Join us for a director-focused briefing with Felicity Roxburgh on how New Zealand businesses can navigate trade uncertainty, geopolitical disruption and shifting market conditions.
Global disruption and geopolitical risks are no longer a background issue for boards. Tariffs, protectionism, supply-chain disruption and changing market expectations are testing New Zealand’s organisations through export markets, supply chains, customers, capital, logistics and regulation.
The IoD’s Geopolitical climate: Boardroom briefings is a four-part webinar series designed to help directors govern with confidence in this changing environment. Each quarterly session in 2026 brings a different expert perspective on the geopolitical forces shaping New Zealand organisations, translating global developments into the strategic questions boards should be asking.
In this third briefing, Felicity Roxburgh, Executive Director of the New Zealand International Business Forum, will bring a practical business perspective to the geopolitical climate. Drawing on nearly two decades in diplomacy, trade, foreign policy and regional engagement, Felicity will explore how internationally connected organisations can respond when certainty is limited and conditions change quickly – from tariffs and protectionism to currency fluctuations, logistics disruption, customs delays, commodity price volatility and shifting market expectations.
Directors will gain practical insights into how boards can support scenario planning, market optionality, resilience and confidence in a less predictable trading environment and how organisations can cut through the noise, identify actionable information and adapt early while continuing to back the trusted relationships and open trade system our economy depends on.
Felicity Roxburgh is the Executive Director of the New Zealand International Business Forum, where she leads the Forum’s engagement on key trade and economic policy issues and represents the interests of internationally focused businesses in dialogue with government and international partners.
Felicity brings nearly two decades of experience in international trade, foreign policy, and regional engagement, with a strong focus on geopolitics and the Indo-Pacific. She most recently served as New Zealand’s Consul-General in New Caledonia and has held a broad range of roles at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, with postings in Hong Kong, New York, and the Pacific.
Earlier in her career, Felicity served as Director, Business at the Asia New Zealand Foundation, where she led initiatives to strengthen New Zealand’s business and people-to-people links across Asia. She has a master’s in communication studies and a journalism degree.
