Overview

Join us for a timely discussion on one of the most consequential issues facing New Zealand’s economy: how we power the future.

Energy affordability, security of supply, electrification, infrastructure investment and emerging technologies are now central to New Zealand’s economic and policy debate. For boards, these are not only technical or operational matters. They shape strategy, risk, capital allocation, resilience, productivity and long-term value.

This Chapter Zero New Zealand session will bring together perspectives from across the energy system, including Marcos Pelenur, Chief Executive of EECA, Kennie Tsui, Chief Executive of the NZ Geothermal Association and President of Engineering New Zealand, and experienced director Jane Diplock AO, CFInstD.

The discussion will explore what the energy transition means in practice, where momentum and constraints are emerging, and what directors should be watching as New Zealand’s energy system evolves.

Facilitated by Judene Edgar, Chapter Zero New Zealand Lead and National Executive Committee member, Energy Trusts of New Zealand, this is an opportunity for directors to step back from the technical debate and consider what energy system change means for the boardroom.
