Overview

Organisations that use technology and data better than their competitors will perform better than their competitors, similar to organisations who adopted new technology during the industrial revolution. Whether this is for superior customer service, efficiency, risk mitigation or better decision-making, the good use of technology and data can improve a business.

Yet, managing technology investments is a challenge at board level, there are many risks with large digital transformational investments, the rate of change and the protection of data. Boards are asking: Are we investing enough in technology? Are we are investing in the right technology? How do I know our project is on track? I don’t understand some of the jargon?

This session will cover insights from a CIO’s perspective about technology governance, covering – major digital transformation projects, addressing technical debt and cloud services. Phil will share his insights and opinions on technology governance and explain some of the industry jargon.

Fireside chats are story-based, small group events where questions and discussion are actively encouraged. Due to the potentially sensitive nature of matters discussed, the Chatham House Rule will apply.  Numbers are strictly limited.

Please note this event has been rescheduled from 7 August to 17 August.
