Join us online to explore the non-financial skills that contribute to strong audit and risk committee performance.
Audit and risk committees are evolving in response to a broader and more complex risk environment. Alongside financial literacy, boards are expected to bring a wider mix of skills, perspectives and experience to support effective oversight.
In this webinar, Judene Edgar, IoD Principal Advisor – Governance Leadership and Bruce Robertson, experienced Audit and Risk director will explore the non-financial skills that contribute to strong audit and risk committee performance. You will gain practical insights into how committees can strengthen their capability and respond to emerging governance expectations.
Join fellow members of the Audit and Risk Shared Interest Group for a focused discussion, with the opportunity to ask questions and hear different perspectives.

Bruce Robertson is an experienced governance and risk adviser with deep expertise in audit and risk committee practice across the public sector. Since leaving the Office of the Auditor-General in 2015, he has served as an independent member on numerous audit and risk committees, including local authorities and central government entities, and currently chairs the Ministry for Primary Industries Risk and Assurance Committee.
Bruce brings practical insight into how committees can strengthen oversight in an increasingly complex environment, including through broader capability, sound judgement and effective governance processes. His work includes risk maturity reviews, governance and capability assessments, and support for sensitive reviews and inquiries. He is also a regular educator and presenter, contributing to governance induction programmes and sector forums. Bruce’s experience makes him well placed to discuss the mix of financial and non-financial skills needed for high-performing audit and risk committees.
