The branch received a most insightful talk from Greg Doone, PwC, on the new consumer in the digital age.


Taranaki branch members were privileged to receive a Whakatau at their recent event Governance in a Māori context, held in the beautiful Takapou Whariki Gallery.


The Taranaki Branch was delighted in the high attendance at our first IoD Rural Governance Essentials in our region.


22 March - Breakfast function with Peter Dryden
Peter treated us to some entertaining anecdotes about his time as Managing Director at DowAgroSciences. These included some valuable insights into potential governance pitfalls that he has observed from his many experiences.

12 November Taranaki Christmas Function with guest speaker Dan Radcliffe
Dan is the Executive Director of International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ), the world's leading volunteer travel company. Starting the company from the family farm in Taranaki, New Zealand, he has grown it to become the world's most popular volunteer travel company. With a focus on affordability and responsible volunteering, IVHQ has made it possible for more than 35,000 people to travel and volunteer in over 30 countries in the last eight years. IVHQ  is now one of the world's leading volunteer travel companies, and marketed almost entirely through social media

A surprise additional speaker was Rebecca Scown, NZ rower. Rebecca, with Juliette Haigh, won a bronze medal in the women’s coxless pair at the 2012 Olympics having won gold in the women’s pairs in 2010 and 2011.Rebecca is now in the newly-formed eight that have qualified for the 2016 Olympics.
