Otago Southland Branch

The Otago Southland Branch of the Institute of Directors covers a large area that includes Dunedin, Invercargill, Balclutha, Gore, Queenstown, Oamaru and Te Anau – and everywhere in between. We have more than 700 IoD members.
We run about 28 branch events a year, from lunches to evening cocktails and dinners, usually with guest speakers. We hold events in Dunedin and occasionally in Queenstown, Invercargill, and Wanaka. Members in Otago Southland support the branch by volunteering to sit on the branch committee. Committee members attend events and meetings, and provide the branch with governance.
Whether you are an existing member or new to governance and want more information on membership, please feel free to get in touch. We look forward to seeing you at a branch event in the near future.

Our Director Dialogue series is an initiative born from member feedback requesting events for new and emerging directors. These informal bi-monthly sessions run for an hour from 8am. Participants discuss governance topics following presentations from senior directors. We also run lunchtime and evening speaking events throughout the year. These reflect governance interests and global trends, and attract members at all levels of experience. We are fortunate at the branch to have some highly experienced directors who share their knowledge and passion for governance.
