Overview

Do you have skills and experience that would be useful to a board and have at least 3 years’ experience in a senior management role or as a professional business advisor, or sitting on a NFP board?

If you are a member of one of our branches and in the early stages of your governance career then come along to hear about the Emerging Director award and we will announce our 2023 sponsoring board.

Claire van der Most

Claire has led teams for over 20 years across the Public, Private and For Purpose Sectors in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom, including human resources, health & safety, quality & risk, and marketing & communications functions.

With a Masters’ degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology and a member of the Institute of Directors, Claire is Executive Chair at HMS Trust – a For-Purpose organisation providing much needed services for migrants, former refugees and newcomers. She is also Deputy Chair of Age Concern Hamilton.

Working with, and/or reporting to, Boards for over 15 years, Claire started her formal governance journey in 2019. Known for her positive energy, pragmatic approach, and ability to balance the big picture with getting things done, she also values the importance of relationships.

Claire is delighted to be the 2022 winner of the Waikato IoD Emerging Director Award and is looking forward to being part of the Waikato Regional Property Trust Board, and the learning and connections this fantastic opportunity will provide.
