Simon Lockwood reflects on his time with the IoD and specifically 10 years as Chair.

From starting the governance journey to leading the Committee and sitting on National Council. Chairing and changing the Emerging Director Award to speaking at numerous events to promote and encourage the next generation of Directors to enhance the region and themselves.

This event is an opportunity to hear Simon’s reflections as he hands over the Chair and steps back but will remain involved with an organisation he has made such a contribution towards.

It is a great & timely opportunity for Directors to connect and reflect on what 2027 will bring for their journey in governance.

Regional Branch Director: Gallagher Insurance (Previously Crombie Lockwood)

Simon has worked in the insurance industry for the last 31 years both in the UK and NZ. For the last eighteen years Simon has led the Waikato Regional Team of Gallagher Insurance (previously known as Crombie Lockwood). The Waikato Branch of New Zealand’s largest broker has over 50 team members and looks after 8,000 client relationships.

Simon is currently the Chairman of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and represents the Waikato on the National Council of the IoD. In addition Simon makes a wide ranging contribution to the region through a variety of governance roles including:

Finance & Risk Committee Chairman: Habitat for Humanity CNI Ltd
Chair of Netball Waikato & BOP Zone
