Overview

This interactive two-hour workshop, facilitated by Francois Barton MinstD of the Business Leaders’ Health and Safety Forum, offers a unique opportunity to delve into health and safety governance. Using insights from the Institute of Directors Health and Safety Governance: A Good Practice Guide, participants will hear senior leaders share their experiences and approaches on how they put good governance of health and safety into practice:

  • Grant Dodson MInstD, CEO, City Forests
  • Matt Carter, Chief People Officer, Silver Fern Farms
  • Gary Dixon, Chief Financial Officer and Candice Maree, GM People and Culture, Aurora Energy

In the context of the topical and significant Tony Gibson vs. Maritime NZ case, this session will ensure the chance for interactive small group discussions led by our industry leaders. Attendees will rotate between tables for deep dives into critical themes identified in the Gibson decision.  Participants will walk away having gained varied perspectives and actionable insights.

To close the session we are delighted to welcome, Helen Sadgrove MInstD, HSE Global Managing Director NZ, who will join Francois to close out the session with practical takeaways to strengthen governance practices.

This workshop is ideal for directors looking to strengthen their health and safety governance. Spaces are limited to ensure an interactive experience
