Institute of Directors and Marlborough Chamber of Commerce collaboration launch
An evening networking event launching the 2020 collaboration between the Institute of Directors Nelson Marlborough Branch and the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce (MCoC).
MCoC 2019 Business Person of the Year Award Winner and IoD Chartered Member Tony de Reeper will talk about his experience as a business owner and director and Jennifer Moxon (former IBM CEO who serves on the boards of Port Marlborough, Fisher Funds and Open Polytechnic of NZ) will discuss her journey to becoming a professional director following an executive career, and the changes she’s seeing in governance.
Come along to celebrate our launch, hear these directors speak, meet the people that govern our organisations and network with local business people.
Nb – a complimentary drink and nibbles are provided in the ticket price. A cash bar will be operating on the evening. Non IoD members who belong to the Chamber need to register through the Chamber website to receive the member price for this event.
One of two directors at Wallace Diack Chartered Accountants, Tony balances his time between leading and developing the practice and working closely with a number of clients enabling them to look at company growth, expansion, restructuring or optimum time to sell. Living in Blenheim for 19 years, Tony has seen a huge change in the region with the horticulture sector moving from fruit trees to grape vines, wineries producing iconic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, the aquaculture sector’s growth and development with mussels, clams, and salmon farming, and tourism now being Marlborough’s largest export market.
Over these years Tony has spent time in the community in the following positions:
Jennifer Moxon has over 30 years’ experience in IBM where she developed her technology, leadership and innovation skills to lead strategic client change through market and technology disruption. In her time as an executive director Jennifer developed a strong understanding of the role of corporate governance and its value to successful leadership. She held several senior roles including CEO IBM New Zealand, Vice President Digital and Cloud A/NZ, Vice President Industries A/NZ, Chair of Diversity and a Judge in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards. Relocating to Blenheim in 2016, Jennifer found governance was a natural progression in her career. Jennifer was a Future Director on the Transpower Board from 2017-18 and currently serves on the NZ Trade and Enterprise Strategic Advisory Board, the Open Polytechnic of NZ Board, the Fisher Funds Board and the Port Marlborough Board. She has degrees in Business in Psychology from Victoria University in Wellington and has completed postgraduate education at Harvard Business School and the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
Regrettably, registration fees cannot be refunded when cancellations are received within two working days prior to any branch event.
