Overview

Join us for a three-course dinner and networking event with experienced director Julia Hoare, chair of Port of Tauranga Ltd, Director of Comvita and Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk committees of Auckland International Airport Limited and Meridian Energy Ltd.

There will be ample opportunity to ask questions and network with IoD chartered colleagues at this subsidised function.

Julia Hoare

Julia Hoare is a professional independent director. She is Chair of Port of Tauranga Limited, Director of Comvita and Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk committees of Auckland International Airport Limited and Meridian Energy Ltd. Julia is also a Board member of Northport Ltd & Primeport Timaru Ltd.

Previous roles include Deputy Chair of the a2 Milk Company Limited and Director of New Zealand Post, AWF Madison Group and Watercare Services and formerly a member of the External Reporting Advisory Panel and the New Zealand Sustainable Finance Forum Leadership Group.

Julia is also the immediate past president and immediate past Chair of the Institute of Directors (IoD).

Julia was a Partner with PwC NZ for 20 years where she sat on the Government’s review into the emissions trading scheme, and also set up and led PwC’s local sustainability and climate change services practice.

Julia is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Chartered Fellow of the IoD.

Anna Scott

As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Marsh New Zealand, Anna Scott oversees strategy, operations and teams across Marsh New Zealand, delivering innovative solutions to organisations across the country. She also leads the Marsh People and Investments division across New Zealand, where she champions the development of innovative solutions and services in investments, retirement savings, workforce, and health and benefits. She is passionate about working closely with local and regional teams to deliver tailored strategies that support the financial wellbeing of our clients and members.

With more than 20 years of leadership experience in financial services both in Aotearoa and internationally, Anna is recognised for her ability to identify actionable solutions that support growth and enhance the quality and resilience of workforce and retirement outcomes for clients.

Prior to joining Marsh (formerly Mercer) in 2025, she held CEO and Chief Operating Officer roles at New Zealand investment fund management firms, where she drove strategic growth, enhanced brand presence, and improved operational performance.

Anna’s extensive leadership background also includes an Executive Director role at J.P. Morgan, where she managed global operations and strategy for the Global Currency & Commodities Group. She is also a Director of the non-profit Financial Services Council of New Zealand.

Committed to fostering community and industry development, Anna chairs the Sea Wolf Water Polo Club and is an active member of Global Women, a network of New Zealand’s most influential women leaders advocating for inclusion and diversity.

Anna is based in Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau.
