Fourteen members of the Institute of Directors have been recognised in the 2026 New Year Honours for their leadership, service and contributions across governance, business and community life in Aotearoa New Zealand.
IoD Chief Executive Kirsten Patterson MNZM says the recognition is a strong reflection of the work directors are doing across the country.

“It’s fantastic to see our members being recognised like this – it really speaks to the values we stand for at the IoD: integrity, leadership, service and impact. A huge congratulations to everyone on the list.

“Our members are out there making a real difference – whether it’s in business, governance, communities or iwi. Their recognition in the New Year Honours reflects the meaningful, often quiet, work they do every day.

“And it is nice to see one of the IoD’s staff on the list also – congratulations to Judene Edgar from our Governance Leadership Centre.”
