Chartered Membership is a respected milestone in the Institute of Directors’ membership journey – one that reflects governance experience, professionalism and a commitment to ongoing development.

The Chartered Member Assessment (CMA) is a key step along this pathway. By completing it, you’ve demonstrated your governance knowledge, sound judgement and readiness to lead with confidence at the board table.

To recognise this achievement, we’re proud to introduce the CMA digital badge – a visible way to showcase your progress and commitment to professional standards in governance.

Your CMA badge signals to boards, peers and stakeholders that you’ve successfully completed a rigorous, standards-based assessment and are dedicated to continuous learning and development as a director.

Eligible members who have completed the CMA will receive a notification from Credly, our digital credentialling partner, to accept their badge. Once issued, you can easily share it on LinkedIn, in your governance CV, email signature or digital portfolio – giving you a simple and credible way to highlight your progress on the Chartered pathway.

This is the first time the Institute has introduced a digital credential at this stage of the pathway, and we’re delighted to support members in celebrating and sharing their success.
