Richard looks forward to sharing some practical advice and suggestions about what your board should be considering in order to manage its climate change risks effectively.
Much of the climate change material and perspectives delivered in the public domain to date focuses on: government policy; legal perspectives with an emphasis on directors’ responsibilities (and D&O insurance) and disclosure expectations (e.g. TCFD).
In contrast, there has been significantly less on the wider array of ‘practical’ implications and opportunities for individual organisations - the ‘what does this really mean in practice for any enterprise and those charged with its leadership and governance’? question.
Richard is a seasoned risk professional with over 30 years of risk and finance experience across private and public sectors.
He has worked with the senior leadership teams and boards of a wide range of organisations locally and abroad, advising on the risk and assurance dimensions of governance, strategy, performance, regulation and change.
His extensive experience across the financial services sector in particular including with regulators, development finance institutions, reinsurers, sovereign and private wealth funds, venture capital and the financial markets more generally, provides him with a multifaceted view of climate change risks (and opportunities); and associated financing.
Richard is a Member of the Institute of Directors, Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst.
