Sustainable investing – impacts of its activities on all stakeholders

Sustainable investing has gained prominence in recent years and will only become more important in the years ahead. Gone are the days where the only focus for a company was maximising shareholder value – a company must now be aware of the impacts of its activities on all stakeholders.

Overview

Along with considering the environmental impact of a company’s operations, sustainable investing also incorporates a company’s societal impact and how it is governed. A company that has a detrimental impact on its environment is more likely to have an unsustainable business model. The same goes for one that has a negative impact on society, or that has poor governance practices.

Roy will discuss the approach Craigs uses, along with how sustainable investing can align an investor’s portfolio to their set of values, how it can drive positive change, and can serve to identify opportunities and risks.
