The Taranaki Branch’s 14th Annual General Meeting is an important opportunity to reflect on the past year, review branch performance, and consider priorities for the year ahead. We will also elect our committee for the next term and acknowledge those completing their service. To view the AGM agenda
Following the formal AGM business, we are delighted to welcome Dion Tuuta MInstD (Ngāti Mutunga, Ngāti Tama, Taranaki Iwi) as our guest speaker.

MInstD (Ngāti Mutunga, Ngāti Tama, Taranaki Iwi)
Dion Tuuta is of Ngāti Mutunga, Ngāti Tama, Te Atiawa and Taranaki Iwi descent and has worked in Māori development for most of his life. Raised in Taranaki, he began his education at Urenui Primary School and later attended Francis Douglas Memorial College. Dion holds a Master’s degree in History from Massey University, grounding his career in a deep understanding of iwi histories and Crown–Māori relationships.
He began his career as a historian for the Waitangi Tribunal before moving into policy, communications, and governance roles. From 2000 to 2006, he served as a Treaty negotiator for Ngāti Mutunga. Dion later became Transition Manager for Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Mutunga, followed by eight years as Chief Executive of Parininihi ki Waitōtara Incorporation. He also served as Chief Executive of Te Ohu Kaimoana, representing iwi interests in national fisheries policy. Most recently, he was Pou Whakahaere (CEO) of Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa Trust. Dion presently Chairs Parininihi ki Waitotara Incorporation, is the Deputy Chairman of Te Ohu Kai Moana and is a Trustee of Toi Foundation.
