Overview

Join us for an evening with IoD President Trish Oakley CFInstD, who will share insights from her governance journey and reflections on leadership in the boardroom.

We are also delighted to celebrate long-serving former Branch Chair Craig Hattle CFInstD as he receives his Chartered Fellowship. This special recognition acknowledges his significant contribution to governance and dedicated service to the Institute of Directors.

This dinner offers an opportunity to hear from one of New Zealand’s leading governance voices while recognising the achievements of a valued member of our local governance community.

Trish Oakley

CFInstD

Trish is President of the Institute of Directors and a Chartered Fellow. She is an executive at Forsyth Barr Ltd and has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, working across marketing, product development and people focused initiatives. 

Trish is Chancellor of the University of Otago, director of University of Otago Holdings Limited, a trustee of the Hocken Collection and the University of Otago Foundation Trust. 

She is co-chair of the Financial Services Council Investment and KiwiSaver committee. She is also a member of the New Zealand Lotteries Commission, holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago, and is a member of Global Women. 

Craig Hattle

CFInstD

Craig is an independent board chair and governance advisor with more than a decade of experience as a professional director on SMEs, family enterprises, and multi-owner organisations across Aotearoa. 

With a background spanning agribusiness, engineering, primary healthcare, technical services, and agri-export sectors, Craig specialises in governance systems, including effective use of advisory boards, and guiding organisations through growth, succession, and strategic transition.

Craig has served as Independent Chair for Parininihi ki Waitōtara Farms LP, Edison Consulting Engineers, Carefirst Primary Care group, and Oslo/FBT Organic Fertilisers, and as an Independent Director of Egmont Seafoods. His not for profit governance roles include being a Trustee with the Bishop’s Action Foundation, Venture Taranaki Branching Out programme and Dairy Trust Taranaki.

 Trained as a soil scientist, Craig holds an MBA (GSB Cape Town) and is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors. He also served on the IoD National Council and was Branch Chair for Taranaki.
