Join us for the Nelson Marlborough Branch AGM, followed by a keynote address from Mary Devine ONZM CFInstD.
The Nelson Marlborough Branch of the Institute of Directors will hold its 22nd Annual General Meeting at the start of this lunchtime event. To view the Notice of AGM.
Following the AGM, we are pleased to welcome Mary Devine ONZM CFInstD as our keynote speaker. Mary is the Chief Executive Officer of Foodstuffs South Island, leading a $4 billion cooperative with more than 14,000 team members across the South Island. She brings extensive executive and governance experience, having held chief executive and managing director roles at EziBuy, Ballantynes & Co, and Hallenstein Glassons. Her governance portfolio includes director roles with Meridian Energy, Christchurch City Holdings, IAG New Zealand, and Briscoes Group, and she was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2013 for services to business.
In her address, Mary will share insights from her executive and governance career, including leading at scale, shaping performance focused culture, and navigating the challenges facing large, member-owned organisations. She will also reflect on current economic and sector trends and what they mean for directors operating in an increasingly complex environment.
This event is an opportunity to connect with fellow members, fulfil your AGM responsibilities, and hear from one of New Zealand’s most experienced governance leaders.
CFInstD
Mary Devine ONZM is the CEO of Foodstuffs South Island and a highly regarded leader in New Zealand’s retail sector. She joined the Foodstuffs South Island Board in 2018 and became CEO in 2022, leading major transformation across the cooperative, including integrated supply chain technology and automated distribution initiatives.
Mary has held senior roles as Managing Director of Hallenstein Glassons and Ballantynes, and CEO of EziBuy, alongside directorships with Briscoes Group, Meridian Energy, IAG New Zealand and Christchurch City Holdings. Appointed ONZM in 2013 for services to business, she is also a founding influence in Global Women. She holds a BCom and MBA.
