What can go wrong and what can you do about it?
Join branch sponsor Duncan Cotterill for this online session.
For many of us, the first time we dip our toes into governance is by joining our children’s school Board of Trustees. Suddenly we are no longer just a supportive parent, but also accountable for the performance of the school and its students. So what do you need to know before you join your school Board of Trustees? What can go wrong and what can you do about it?
Duncan Cotterill’s Special Counsel Madeleine Hawkesby joins us to share her experiences and war stories. Madeleine is a senior lawyer who specialises in employment and education law and regularly represents school boards. She has also has been appointed as a Limited Statutory Manager/ Commissioner in seven schools in the South Island, and has also been a school trustee.

Please bring along your burning questions and join us to learn more about governance in the education sector.
