About the survey
The IoD Directors’ Fees Survey, conducted with EY who manage the survey on our behalf, builds the benchmark for director remuneration in New Zealand, providing insights board rely on to set fair and informed fees. The survey is open to both members and non-members.
Whether you are in a paid or voluntary role your participation helps ensure the benchmark reflects the full diversity of today’s directors – across sectors, regions, and communities. Your input helps build a clear, accurate picture of fees, responsibilities, and expectations at board level.
The results of the 2026 Fees survey will be published in September 2026. Get a glance at the insights from last year’s survey here.
Participants in the survey will:

- receive a free copy of the executive highlights when the Directors' Fees Report is released
- access a preferential rate for the full report
- can log two CPD points (IoD members)
