Peter Young Peter Young joins Canterbury Peer Support Programme

The Peer Support Programme has been set up to allow Canterbury members to discuss professional and personal issues with a senior director and is available free to all Canterbury IoD members.

One of our amazing support people, Graham Heenan, is stepping down and Peter Young has kindly agreed to step into the role and join Jen Crawford to support members.

Peter Young is a retired partner of KPMG having specialised in assurance and corporate recovery.  He left the firm in 2002 to develop a governance portfolio as a professional independent director and is a Chartered Fellow of the IoD.

Peter has chaired iconic companies such as Leighs Construction and Steelbro along with a number of provincial and nationally based companies.  He has been very involved with charitable entities including the Order of St John for which he has been promoted to Knight and is a past President and Life Member of Cholmondeley Children’s Centre.

He is currently chairing Akaroa Health Limited which has established a new medical and aged care facility there, is deputy chair of the Akaroa Community Health Trust and a trustee of Comcare Charitable Trust.

Your confidentiality when using the Peer Support Programme is guaranteed – the only reporting will be to the local branch committee on the number of people who have used the programme. There will be no reporting of any other details.
