Public Sector Governance
Shared Interest Group
The Public Sector Governance Shared Interest Group (SIG) is designed to support and connect directors or future directors serving in Aotearoa New Zealand’s local and central government public sector.
The SIG will provide a forum for governance professionals across a diverse range of public purpose organisations to exchange insights, share experiences, and strengthen their governance capability. This includes directors of Crown entities including Crown agents, autonomous and independent Crown entities, directors of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and Council-Controlled Organisations (CCOs), council members of Tertiary Education Institutions and School Boards of Trustees, as well as those preparing for governance roles in the new water services entities.
The SIG also welcomes individuals in other governance roles with a public purpose or impact, including those who have participated in development programmes such as Iti Kōpara. By bringing together this wide-ranging community, the SIG supports peer learning, shared understanding, and the ongoing development of governance capability across the public and civic sectors.
