Joe Hanita | Course facilitator | IoD NZ

Joe Hanita is the Group Chief Financial Officer for Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu and a non-executive director with various iwi entities across Aotearoa.

Joe has served on multiple boards since the age of 24 and held various roles in senior management and finance over the past 25 years. 

His qualifications include a Bachelor of Business and professional certifications as a Fellow Chartered Accountant (CAANZ), Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CIPFA UK) and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand.

Joe was born in Masterton but was raised across the rural sector in the North Island and is of Ngāti Kuia, Te Ātiawa, Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō, Rangitāne and Ngāti Kahungunu descent.

Delivered at Waiwhetū Marae in Lower Hutt, the programme combines governance learning, boardroom simulations and real-world decision-making with tikanga (protocols), whakawhanaungatanga (building connections) and a uniquely Aotearoa approach to leadership and governance.
