Kāi Tahu (Kāti Irakehu), Taranaki, Ngā Rauru, Ngāti Kahungunu

Charisma Rangipunga is the Founding Director of NAIA, a consultancy based in Ōtautahi that works with iwi, Māori organisations and mainstream organisations across strategy, cultural intelligence, leadership development and business resilience. She has grown NAIA from start-up to an established firm and is extremely proud that the business has been able embed a whānau-centred approach as part of its point of difference.

She brings more than a decade of governance and executive experience at the highest levels of the Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu Group. Charisma is the Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu Representative for Wairewa and Chair of Te Here (a sub-committee of Te Rūnanga which is responsible for internal investment alignment with tribal aspirations) and serves on the board of Tokona te Raki. She served ten years on Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori - the Māori Language Commission, eight of them as Deputy Chair.

Her executive career includes Chief Values Officer for Ngāi Tahu Holdings, where she led values alignment across the commercial group, and General Manager Te Taumatua at Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, leading the tribe's cultural strategy, the establishment of its archives, and reo revitalisation across the iwi.

Charisma works at the meeting point of tikanga, strategy and enterprise. She is a foundation student of Te Panekiretanga o Te Reo Māori, an award-winning author and composer, and a trusted strategist for iwi across the motu. Growing capable, confident people matters to her as much as the strategy itself.
