Overview

James Miller, Chair of the New Zealand Stock Exchange and a professional director, will share with you his experience of the August 2020 cyber attack on the NZX. He will also present the lessons learnt from this event and key governance advice to prepare an organisation for this situation.  

There will be an opportunity for Q&A.

James Miller

James Miller is an experienced commercial director with strong skills managing the audit and risk function.  He is regarded as one of the country's most experienced Chairs of company Audit and Risk Committees. 

He is Chair of NZX, Deputy Chair of Accident Compensation Corporation, Director of Mercury and Refining New Zealand.

James has previously held Board positions with Auckland International Airport and the Financial Markets Authority.  He has been the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for Auckland International Airport and is currently Chair of the Audit and Risk Committees for Mercury, Refining New Zealand and Chair of the ACC Investment Committee.

James is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand, a Certified Securities Analyst Professional, an accredited Director of the Institute of Directors in NZ Inc, a Fellow of the Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand and a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors (CFInstD).  He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Otago University and is a graduate of The Advanced Management Program, Harvard Business School (USA).
