Overview

This follow-up clinic is exclusively for Governing AI Forum attendees who want extra support using the tools and AI agents introduced during the Build your own AI agent for governance knowledge session.

After the forum, you’ll have the opportunity to continue building and testing your AI agent before joining Kim Gordon and Mike Grenfell for this interactive virtual session. Bring your questions, troubleshoot challenges, share ideas, and explore practical ways AI can support your board work - from identifying risks and extracting decisions to generating questions for management.

Mike Grenfell

Mike Grenfell is the Founder of ExecTech Consulting, where he provides CIO-level capability to New Zealand SMEs, helping them harness the transformative power of AI and technology. His work spans AI readiness assessments, strategy development, and execution oversight,  helping clients work out what to invest in, how to govern it, and where the genuine risks sit.

Before founding ExecTech, Mike spent 15 years in C-suite roles across financial services, including time as Chief Operating Officer at Heartland Bank, Chief Information Officer at the New Zealand Automobile Association, and a nine year stint at international insurer Cigna in COO, CIO and CMO roles. Earlier in his career he worked in London, Singapore and Sydney across banking and insurance. Across these roles he  has led major technology transformations, navigated complex change, and built information security programmes in regulated environments.

A consistent thread throughout his career has been working at the intersection of technology and business, translating one for the other. He's particularly interested in the role AI can play in lifting New Zealand's productivity, and what it takes for SMEs to adopt it in a way that's genuinely beneficial.
