At the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting (AGM), members will be addressed by guest speaker, Nick Tuffley, ASB Chief Economist.

Trish Oakley is President of the Institute of Directors and a Chartered Fellow. She is an executive at Forsyth Barr Ltd and has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, working across marketing, product development and people focused initiatives.
Trish is Chancellor of the University of Otago, director of University of Otago Holdings Limited, a trustee of the Hocken Collection and the University of Otago Foundation Trust.
She is co-chair of the Financial Services Council Investment and KiwiSaver committee. She is also a member of the New Zealand Lotteries Commission, holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago, and is a member of Global Women.

Ross Buckley began his professional governance career in October 2020 after retiring from KPMG, where he was executive chair of the New Zealand firm from 2011 to 2020. Ross joined KPMG in Wellington in 1983 and held a variety of roles in New Zealand and overseas including serving as a board member of KPMG Asia Pacific and a member of KPMG’s Global Council.
Ross is an independent board director of ASB Bank, he chairs the Audit Committee and is a member of ASB’s Appointment and Remuneration, and Risk Committees. He is also the independent chair of Service Foods and a member of Massey University’s Council and chairs their Finance and Assurance Committee. Ross is an independent director at Investore Property Limited and independent director at Stride Property Group and chairs the Audit and Risk Committee. Ross is also a member of the Audit Oversight Committee at Financial Markets Authority.
Ross has a BBS (Massey University) and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA). Ross is a Chartered Member of the IoD and was appointed Chair of the Board in June 2023.
MNZM, CMInstD
Kirsten Patterson MNZM (known as KP) is the Chief Executive of the Institute of Directors and is a Chartered Member of the IoD. In 2025 she was awarded the New Zealand Royal Honour, Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to governance and women. She is a qualified lawyer and a Distinguished Fellow of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand, Chair of the Global Network of Directors Institutes (GNDI), and a member of the New Zealand External Reporting Advisory Panel (XRAP). She serves on the Boards of the mental health charity, Voices of Hope, is Chair of the Brian Picot Ethical Leadership Advisory Board at Victoria University in Wellington and an Ambassador for the Wellington Women’s Homeless Trust.
A strong advocate of diversity, KP is a member of Global Women New Zealand and was one of the founding members of Global Women’s ‘Champions for Change’, a group of senior executives and directors who commit to diversity in the workplace. KP was the founder and is Executive Sponsor for Chapter Zero New Zealand – the New Zealand Chapter of the World Economic Forum’s Climate Governance Initiative - hosted by the IoD NZ to mobilise, connect, educate and equip directors and boards to make climate-smart governance decisions, thereby creating long term value for both shareholders and stakeholders.

Nick Tuffley was appointed as ASB’s Chief Economist in January 2007, having previously worked at Westpac and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. Nick studied at Canterbury University, graduating with a Master of Commerce in Economics.
He and the rest of the Economics team provide regular analysis of economic developments and the outlook through written publications and media comments. Their key objective is to help the bank’s clients make better-informed business and personal finance decisions. The Economics team has won 4 Consensus Economics Forecast Accuracy Awards for their NZ forecasts.
