Overview

Global uncertainty is reshaping trade, logistics, and the expectations placed on organisations. Market access is increasingly influenced by factors beyond price — including emissions reporting, nature-related impacts, supply-chain integrity and compliance with differing international standards.

For New Zealand organisations, these shifts affect procurement, export plans, partnerships and stakeholder confidence. Boards need a practical understanding of how these global changes intersect with strategy, risk and long-term resilience.

This session explores:

  • the global shifts creating uncertainty across markets, supply chains and regulation
  • how climate and nature expectations are quietly becoming part of trade norms
  • what changing conditions mean for organisational credibility and reliability
  • how directors can strengthen preparedness without over-engineering governance
  • where simple choices — diversification, transparency, optionality — make a tangible difference.
