Jonathan Chambers is the General Manager of Te Whāngai Trust, a kaupapa-driven social enterprise creating nature-based employment pathways for rangatahi and individuals transitioning from the corrections system. He stepped into the role following his tenure as a board member, leading the organisation through a significant leadership transition and into its next phase of growth and impact. 

Under his leadership, Te Whāngai Trust delivers work-integrated programmes where participants gain vocational qualifications, practical experience, and pastoral support while contributing to environmental restoration across Auckland. The model supports people who have struggled in traditional systems to build sustainable employment pathways, while restoring local ecosystems and strengthening communities. 

Jonathan brings over 10 years’ experience in consulting across three waters engineering, sustainability, and climate change advisory. He is a Chartered Member of both Engineering New Zealand and The Institute of Directors in New Zealand with a technical foundation in flood risk and stormwater management. He is passionate about building resilient communities and investing in solutions that deliver social, environmental, and economic outcomes.
