Individual membership types
New members join the Institute of Directors in one of two categories – Member or Associate.
- Members participate in continuing professional development and can develop their governance career on the Chartered Membership pathway.
- Associates do not commit to CPD.

Membership fees
Membership subscription fees are the same for Associates and Members. We offer a special rate if you are under 40.
