Join us for Taranaki Branch’s 11th Annual General Meeting followed by a panel discussion with Susan Hughes QC CMInstD and Sean Maskill MInstD
Enjoy lunch with local members, followed by the business of our AGM.
We will then hear from panellists, Susan Hughes and Sean Maskill, on the legislative changes coming our way in 2023 - and what as directors and business leaders we need to be ready for.
Thanks to our event sponsor Auld Brewer Mazengarb & McEwen for their continued support.
Susan is a longstanding faculty member of the New Zealand Law Society Litigation Skills course and is a member of the New Zealand Law Society Disciplinary Tribunal.
Susan has held various appointments beyond the law. Most recently she was appointed a Gambling Commissioner in 2022. Susan is also chair of the Len Lye Foundation, a Taranaki Regional Councillor where she chairs the Operations and Regulatory Committee, a member of the New Zealand Medical Council, and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors. She was a director of Civil Aviation from 2004 to 2011.
Sean is an employment and commercial lawyer who works with a wide range of clients, including Local Authorities, Crown Entities, large companies, SME’s, not-for-profits and individual employees.
Sean enjoys working closely with employers and their HR teams to resolve difficult employment problems in a manner consistent with the organisation’s strategy and values. He has significant mediation experience and has appeared in the Employment Relations Authority, District Court and High Court.
Outside of ABMM, Sean is Vice-President of the Taranaki Branch of the New Zealand Law Society, a member of the Westown School Board of Trustees, former President (and life member) of Taranaki Young Professionals and member of the Institute of Directors.
