In partnership with Venture Taranaki, the Taranaki IoD Branch committee invites you to join us in a roundtable discussion about governance models and steps for SMEs. Our facilitators with first hand experience will share their governance experience.
From creating advisory groups, through to appointing independent directors to their board, this interactive session will allow you to network and hear experiences from leading Taranaki business owners and directors.

Craig is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand and is currently a member of the IoD National Council and the Taranaki Branch Chair.
He holds a number of governance roles, and currently chairs the boards of Parininihi Ki Waitotora (PKW) Farms Board, Carefirst Medical Group, and Edison Consulting Engineers. He is an independent director of the FBT/Osflo Group, Egmont Seafoods Ltd, and OurCloud Ltd.
With a technical background in agricultural science, Craig holds an MBA and is a certified Program Management Professional. He has many years of experience as a business coach, mentor and facilitator, also giving back via his role as a trustee of the Bishops Action Foundation.

Catherine has over 35 years of pharmacy industry experience, including more than 30 years as Managing Director of Vivian Pharmacy. Vivian Pharmacy has been recognized for its achievements in technology, employee culture, and medium business excellence; notably winning the Supreme Award at the 2024 TSB Taranaki Business Excellence Awards.
Her governance experience includes a tenure as Vice-President of the Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand and she is a committee member for the Taranaki branch of the Institute of Directors.

Since 2014, Frances has been the owner and managing director of Whitaker Civil Engineering. Throughout her career, she has consistently applied creative problem-solving to cultivate a fulfilling and impactful professional journey. She has continuously sought to expand her knowledge and skills, and actively contributes to removing challenging perceptions of inclusivity in the construction sector.
Brendan has managed Kiwi Dairies Farmer of the Year, as well as Fonterra’s National Agribusiness sector. As a well-connected member of the agricultural industry, you might find Brendan on the Chair of Dairy Trust Taranaki, Taranaki Sharemilkers Employers Sub Section, and working as Deputy Chair of National Sharemilkers Employers Sub Section.
MInstD
Justine is a director of Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research, ESR, Economic Development New Zealand, and AGMARDT, and holds several advisory board and charitable chair roles. She also runs a consultancy focused on strategy and engagement in the energy and food sectors.
Previously, Justine was Chief Executive of Venture Taranaki and Deputy Director-General at MPI. Her public service roles have spanned innovation, strategy, communications, policy, and operations, including as Executive Director of the Royal Commission into Canterbury earthquake building failures.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts (UK), and a member of the IoD and Economic Development NZ.
