Giselle is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors (IoD), an experienced company director, chair, CEO and previously a lawyer for over 30 years. Her roles have been varied – from the agricultural sector through to being a partner in a law firm as well as General Counsel for New Zealand’s largest insurance company. She has held many board roles, notably serving as a director for four years on the Earthquake Commission (including its audit committee), and the H&J Smith Group. Amongst other chair roles, Giselle chaired the Audit Committee for the Institute of Financial Advisors and is a lay member of the Medical Council, sitting on their Audit and Risk Committee along with chairing the advisory group of Puro NZ Ltd.
As a professional coach to directors and guiding boards and committee groups, Giselle believes for the world to have a future, people to lead happy, healthy, lives and businesses to thrive, we must embed sustainability and resilience in everything we do. Governance brings long term, strategic thinking, and new ways of doing things - great governance is the enabler that will lead to a stronger New Zealand.
Living on a 10-acre organically grown home base in Tarras, Central Otago, Giselle has recently completed a Cambridge University Sustainable Business Management course which strengthened her desire to help businesses towards a more purposeful, sustainable and resilient future. She is passionate about growing healthy food and healthy businesses too.
