Craig Fisher looks at impacts, trends, threats, and opportunities for this important sector in New Zealand.
The Waikato branch invites all IoD branches to attend this event.
COVID-19 has supercharged a landscape change for many sectors. What will this mean for charities and NFPs in New Zealand? And what are the likely implications for those who govern them?
Craig Fisher is a consultant with RSM specialising in governance, audit and assurance advice. He also assists with restructuring, growing, and developing organisations. Craig is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with over 28 years of public accountancy experience and up until December 2018 he was one of six audit partners and the former chairman of the RSM New Zealand group.
Craig is a recognised specialist in the not-for-profit and charitable sector and has a strong interest in good governance. He holds a range of governance roles including chairing the accounting firms he has been a part of for the past 18 years. Craig is currently a member of the External Reporting board’s New Zealand Audit and Assurance Standards board, chairman of the Fred Hollows Foundation NZ and a trustee of Sustainable Coastlines Charitable Trust.
He has been independent councillor of the Auckland District Law Society, independent risk assurance and audit committee chairman of Ngati Whatua Ōrākei and served on the committee of the NZICA Auckland NFP special interest group. Craig is a Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Charities and NFP Advisory Group member, a Massey University School of Accountancy advisory board member, and a Be Accessible Fab 50 member. He is also a member of DIA Charities Services’ Sector user group providing input into the review of the Charities Act 2005.
His driving passions and north star in his governance roles are to ensure the organisations he is involved with have valuable purposes, effective impact, and are resilient and sustainable.
