Michelle Henderson shares her insights from the boardroom of Meridian Energy, New Zealand’s largest renewable energy power company and Youthline Southland - a local youth development organisation.
Following on from our Director Dialogue on getting started in governance, Michelle Henderson will share her governance journey so far, her approach to board papers and building her portfolio. Health and safety is Michelle’s area of expertise, so what, in her opinion, should be on the board agenda post-COVID?
Michelle has extensive engineering and industrial expertise, with more than 20 years of experience in the Australasian heavy sector industry. Based in Invercargill, Michelle is a former executive of Rio Tinto, both in New Zealand and Australia.
Michelle previously held the role of Chief Operating Officer of PowerNet, an electricity distribution company, leading 200 employees across risk management, health and safety, infrastructure and operations skill sets. Michelle has experience in business delivery, process innovation and ensuring people’s safety.
