Overview

This session will provide an overview of the statutory reporting framework, requirements and standards for public sector entities to report on their performance, within the context of New Zealand’s public accountability system and the role of the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG).

The session will also cover what the OAG sees as the key challenges and opportunities for public sector entities to improve how they report on their performance and why this is important.

David Eng

David Eng is the Performance Reporting Director at the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG). He leads the OAG’s work to improve performance reporting across the public sector.

In his previous roles in the public sector, David has led major strategic work to improve the public finance, performance management and reporting systems in New Zealand’s public sector. He was also previously a lecturer and has published books on public policy and ethics.
