Overview

This is the first of in a series of three events in partnership with the Wānaka Business Chamber looking at governance in SME and start-up businesses.

In this session, chaired by local senior director Paul Moodie, we will look at understanding the purpose of governance, and discuss director’s duties and risks in an SME.  We will also explore the benefits of having a governance structure and the difference between having an advisory board and a formal governance board.  We will talk to local directors and there will be the chance to ask questions of the panel.

After the panel discussion, there will be the opportunity to network over light refreshments.

Our second session on the 25th July will look at setting up governance in SME and start-up businesses and our third session on 26 September will cover developing and extracting value of governance in an SME. Make sure to lock these dates in your diary.
