Felicity Caird

Felicity is a director and governance advisor with significant leadership and governance experience and expertise in the public sector. She has over 20 years’ experience working with boards across all sectors (public, for-profit and not-for-profit), including in a senior leadership role at the Institute of Directors until 2022.  

Her current governance roles include the boards of Racing New Zealand, Master Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers and the Low Volume Vehicle Technical Association. She is also on the Southern Response Independent Oversight Committee and is an external member of the Porirua City Council Audit and Risk Committee. Felicity chairs the Racing Safety Development Fund Industry Working Group and the Parliamentary Counsel Audit and Risk Committee.

At the IoD Felicity was the General Manager, Governance Leadership Centre & Membership, and led research, advocacy and guidance on governance best practice, eg The Four Pillars of Governance Best Practice for New Zealand Directors.

Felicity has extensive experience in facilitating governance training and strategic planning for boards, and advising on governance reviews, board composition and succession planning.
