The annual dinner was a success with over 70 Wellington members, including Disgtinguished Fellows present. Phil O'Reilly presented under Chatham House Rules. Dave Frow presented our 2015 Wellington Branch Emerging Director Award to winner Sunil Surujpal.

Friday 31 July 2015: The business evolution - corporate resilience and sustainability for the future
Eric Dugelay, Global Sustainability Services Leader of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd, presented to the Wellington branch members about the business evolution. Eric is a director at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and is in charge of the project on assurance of non-financial information.
Thursday 9 July 2015: Earthquake prone buildings and director's responsibility
An informative evening was held at our Wellington IoD national office where director's responsibilities were discussed in regards to earthquake prone buildings, earthquake (and other natural disasters) insurance, director and officer liability insurance and the measurement from NZ Post Group seismic policy matrix.

24 June - Dinner with three Knights
The Wellington branch hosted a dinner with three Knights - Hon Sir Michael Cullen, Sir Maarten Wevers and Sir Neville Jordan who each presented on what governances really means in a government context. This was held under Chatham House Rule. The event was very successful with 74 members attending the dinner at KPMG Wellington.
Helen Anderson presented Catherine Savage with her Chartered Fellow certificate at the dinner.
Relationship of the Health and Safety Reform Bill, and Drug and Alcohol testing workshop
Wayne Duley, from The Drug Detection Agency (TDDA), held a workshop on drug and alcohol testing and management in the workforce from a board level. Wayne covered the statistics and facts regarding drug use and testing, testing in the workforce, drug indicators, along with duties under the Work Health and Safety legislation. Cocktail evening for new Wellington Branch members
Simon Arcus, acting CEO of the Institute of Directors, and Helen Anderson from the Wellington Branch Committee, spoke to our new members about IoD, continuing professional developement, chartered member assessment, networking and the value of membership with IoD.
Good governance in government - through the audit lens with Lyn Provost
Auditor General Lyn Provost, recently presented on a topic that is dear to her heart - good governance. She spoke of her current role, to improve the performace of, and the public's trust in, the public sector. Central to achieving these goals is to have strong public sector governance and accountability, making this the theme of her work over the 2014/15 year.
