Organisation description

Camp Quality New Zealand is a volunteer charitable trust facilitating fun, hope and happiness for children living with cancer, primarily through running camps and adventure activities where fun, friendship and a can-do culture inspire children living with cancer.

Camp Quality held its first camp in Auckland in 1985 - attended by 22 children from throughout the country. Since then, Camp Quality has grown to provide camps and recreational activities in five regions catering for over 300 children. Today Camp Quality remains committed to making a positive difference for children (aged 5-16 years) living with cancer.

Particular skills/competencies sought

The Camp Quality Board has a number of vacancies and is seeking expressions of interest from interested individuals who want to be part of something great.

The main roles of a Board Trustee are:

  • Ensure the long-term future of Camp Quality for the benefit of all children living with cancer in NZ
  • Uphold and be guardians of the integrity, philosophy, and culture of Camp Quality
  • Perform the fiduciary and legal responsibilities of good governance, ensuring sound internal controls and management of risk
  • Provide leadership and guidance to our General Manager, Regions, and volunteers
  • Monitor performance of Regions and the National office.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be a team player, have boundless energy and be able to show a commitment to Camp Quality as well as be passionate about our cause.

We are specifically looking for individuals who have a strong background in either Finance, Marketing (Incl. The Board is also seeking to further diversify its demographic representation.

To ensure we have nationwide coverage, we are looking to add Trustees from the South Island particularly the Christchurch and Otago regions.
