Jo Brosnahan

QSO, MA Hons, FCILT, FNZIM, CFInstD

Jo is an experienced chair and director with a passion for governance and leadership development. She is chair of Northpower Fibre (ultra fast broadband), Maritime NZ, Harrison Grierson, and Principal of Leaders for the Future as well as founding chair of the Taitokerau Education Trust in Northland, supporting digital learning in low decile schools. As a Harkness Fellow and Aspen Scholar, Jo spent a year as a mid-career fellow at Duke University in the US, researching leadership.

A Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors, she was previously CEO of the Northland Regional Council and of the Auckland Regional Council and has experience in a broad range of sectors.

Jo believes governance is leadership in action and for New Zealand to succeed, organisations need to succeed, which requires inspiring and capable leaders at both governance and executive levels. Good governance assures shareholders, stakeholders and the community that an organisation is in good hands and is accountable.

Jo was the founder of Leadership NZ, which has over 600 alumni across the diversity of New Zealand.
