Overview

In this interactive Q&A style session our panel will share their experiences on the leadership role the board plays in shaping the culture of an organisation.

The panel will also reflect on the COVID-19 crisis and will share some of the things they will be keeping as we emerge into the new normal.

Tom Boon

Tom is the CEO of Taranakipine Ltd, one of Taranaki’s most successful and innovative businesses, which specialises in the manufacturing and marketing of engineered pine building products sold to both local and export markets.

Tom Boon has been a part of the New Zealand forest industry for over 25 years.  He joined Taranakipine in 2007 as CEO and part owner after a long career within corporate forestry and wood processing companies in both NZ and Australia.

Mary Bourke

Mary served five terms as Mayor of South Taranaki District from 1992, before choosing not to seek re-election in 2007. She describes herself as older and greyer now, having since survived governance roles in health, education and the philanthropic sectors.
